Nine years after its initial release, Sanam Teri Kasam has found a new wave of love and appreciation as it was re-released in theatres in February 2025. The romantic drama, directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, originally released in 2016, starred Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane in their Hindi film debuts. With this resurgence, Sanam Teri Kasam has reaffirmed its status as a cult romantic classic, resonating with both old fans and a new generation of moviegoers. Expressing his gratitude towards the immense response, producer Deepak Mukut has penned an emotional note on social media.

Appreciating the hard work and the sincerity that the entire team put in for the film, Deepak insisted that even though after nine years, all of them have finally received their due. In the note, he said, “When we made Sanam Teri Kasam, we poured our hearts into it, believing in its soul-stirring love story and timeless music. Filmmaking is an act of faith—faith in the story you tell, faith even when a film doesn’t perform as expected, and faith to re-release it nine years later due to public demand. And today, that faith has been rewarded!”
He further went on to add, “Back then, the film found its audience gradually, but over the years, it became a beloved classic. I believe destiny had something even bigger in store for me and for everyone who stood by a film backed by a first-time producer.” “Today, Sanam Teri Kasam has surpassed its original box office run—something we never imagined but always hoped for. It’s proof that love stories never fade and that when a film is made with love, it will always find its way into people’s hearts.”, he shared. “From the bottom of my heart, thank you to every fan who made this possible. This success belongs as much to you as it does to us.”, he concluded and before signing off, also thanked the directors as well as the entire cast and crew.
A modern rendition of the legends of Shiva-Sati and inspired by Eric Segal’s novel Love Story, the film struck an emotional chord with audiences upon its re-release. Fans have especially showered immense love on its soulful music, composed by Himesh Reshammiya, which remains one of its most cherished aspects. Songs like Tera Chehra, Bewajah, and Sanam Teri Kasam have once again topped playlists, proving the album’s timeless appeal.
