Robert Pattinson Gives Hilarious Response To Delays On ‘The Batman’ Sequel

]

Is Robert Pattinson already too old to play The Batman? The iconic actor finally speaks out on the many, many delays plaguing his sequel.

The Batman feels like the Charlie Brown football of comic book movies. Every time fans get closer to the sequel releasing, Matt Reeves yanks the ball out from under them and they fall flat on their back. The long-awaited continuation of the Epic Crime Saga has been delayed a staggering three times, originally eyed to release in 2025, and now being slated to hit the silver screen in 2027.

Though even that isn’t completely locked, with James Gunn preempting that another Batman film could take it’s slot if the sequel isn’t finished. This has left many fans worried that The Batman sequel could face another round of delays, leading to Robert Pattinson having an over five year gap in his career as the Caped Crusader. And with the project reportedly set to film starting at the end of the year, Matt Reeves will have a shockingly tight post-production window to make his mark.

Robert Pattinson Speaks On The Batman Delays

Yet it seems it’s not just fans getting vocal about all these delays. The Batman star himself Robert Pattinson recently spoke about how long the sequel has taken to enter production during his promotional tour for Mickey-17. When asked if the project was still on track to film this year, he remarks that he hopes so, or else he’ll be playing an elderly Batman!

“I f***ing hope so,” Pattinson joked to Hero Magazine. “I started out as young Batman and I’m going to be f***ing old Batman by the sequel.”

While it’s likely nobody would call Robert Pattinson “old” at the ripe old age of 38, he does raise an interesting point. It’ll be nearly six years between filming The Batman and its sequel for the actor. If that pace continues for the final film in the trilogy, Pattinson won’t be finishing his time as the Caped Crusader until he’s in his mid-40s. Which, while not an issue for fans, may certainly impact his knees!

The Batman sequel is currently set to release October 1, 2027. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Matt Reeves’ The Batman universe and make sure to stay tuned to our YouTube channel for more content.
