The Superman cast is looking fresh! James Gunn shares a new BTS photo from the DC Universe production in honor of Edi Gathegi’s birthday.
While James Gunn brought an absolutely stacked cast to Superman, two figures stand apart as being the most anticipated to make their debuts in the DC Universe. The first is Rachel Brosnahan, an Emmy winning actress set to have the biggest silver screen debut of her career. The second is Edi Gathegi, who fans believe will finally be redeemed after being absolutely wasted as Darwin after the supposedly “unkillable” mutant was killed within minutes.
This has left fans absolutely starving for any new looks they can get of the actors ahead of their DC Universe debut. It seems as though James Gunn is more than happy to deliver on that desire. To celebrate Edi Gathegi’s 46th birthday, the director revealed a never-before-seen BTS photo from Superman. This shows off Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane seemingly reporting on a save by Gathegi’s Mister Terrific in some sort of desert.
Edi Gathegi’s Role In The DC Universe
While it’s obvious that Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane will be taking a leading role alongside David Corenswet’s Superman in the film, it’s less clear what James Gunn has in store for Edi Gathegi’s Mister Terrific. From what fans know from the past BTS photo batch, the character seems to be working for some incarnation of the Justice League created by Maxwell Lord, and will likely be a secondary antagonist in the DC Universe project.
However, given Edi Gathegi’s Mister Terrific will seemingly have more screen time than his fellow members (at least judging by the amount of BTS Photos of him apart from them), it’s likely that he’ll make a face turn sometime during the events of Superman and join the side of good alongside David Corenswet’s Man of Steel and Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane.
