SS Rajamouli’s next big venture, tentatively titled SSMB29, is already generating massive buzz as it promises to be a globetrotting action-adventure with superstar Mahesh Babu in the lead. Joining him in pivotal roles are Prithviraj Sukumaran and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, making this film a grand cinematic spectacle with an international appeal. While every update about the film is garnering eyeballs, a recent report has asserted that the film will be set against the backdrop of the spiritual land of Kashi.

According to a Pinkvilla report, a source shared, “The core conflict of the jungle adventure unfolds in Kashi, and the makers are looking to recreate the land of Shiva in Hyderabad, as it’s logistically difficult to can a film of this scale at real locations. The plot of SSR x SSMB is deeply rooted in the history of Kaashi, as the divine past leads to an unforgettable adventure in the present. Kashi serves itself as a very important character of the film.”
Moreover, it is being said that SS Rajamouli is planning to shoot the film in a hybrid format, combining real locations in dense forests with massively mounted sets recreating some of India’s most monumental places. This approach aims to blend authenticity with Rajamouli’s signature larger-than-life visual storytelling, ensuring a stunning cinematic experience for audiences. “Right from forests, to river to caves – SS Rajamouli is looking to take the audience on an unforgettable adventure in different landscapes. Some of the most virgin locations of India and Africa are being explore to provide an unforgettable cinematic experience,” the source was quoted saying.
Furthermore, the source also revealed how Priyanka Chopra has joined the team on March 11 in Odisha. “SSMB 29 will be Priyanka Chopra’s comeback project in India. She is crafting a massive return to the home-turf, and what better than a global project like this to announce the return,” the source added.
Earlier this month, fans were enthralled to see Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj at Odisha airport as the videos of them receiving a warm welcome there went viral. Followed by that, another incident of a video leak came to the forefront when a clip showcasing the extensive set built for the film went viral, raising security concerns. Owing to the mishaps, we hear that the makers are taking extensive measures to avoid such issues.
Meanwhile, coming to the film, Rajamouli has hinted that SSMB29 will feature extensive action sequences, rugged terrains, and a survival-based narrative, with Mahesh Babu stepping into a physically intense and transformative role. The film will reportedly draw inspiration from classic adventure epics and present the Telugu superstar in a never-seen-before action-packed avatar. Penned by Vijayendra Prasad, SSMB29 is set to be one of the most ambitious projects in Indian cinema with an international cast and crew on board, details of which have been maintained under wraps.
