Doomsday’ Directors Tease Disney Plus Heroes May Appear In The MCU’s Multiverse Saga Finale

]

Is the MCU leaving Disney Plus in the dust? The directors of Avengers: Doomsday speak on if any of the lesser-known heroes will join the fight for the multiverse.

One of the key reasons the MCU has been in a bind in recent years is because of the franchise’s offerings on Disney Plus. While no movie in the MCU was ever “required”, it was generally understood that only the feature films introduced characters and concepts that would be key going forward. However, with the rise of Disney Plus, fans were unclear how many of their key players would continue in the Multiverse Saga, or would even be relevant come Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars.

This concern was posed to Avengers: Doomsday directors Joe and Anthony Russo during a recent chat with Tech Radar. The duo was asked certain Disney Plus heroes, such as Moon Knight or Ms. Marvel, would be hopping the Multiverse to the silver screen. While the brothers have been around the block enough to know not to tip their hand with these sorts of things, they did tease that certain members of the smaller screen shows may make an appearance.

“In terms of what we’re drawing on for our storytelling, we take the comprehensive view of the MCU. So, without getting into anything more specific than that, this is the universe we’re telling a story within. You can read into that what you like.”

What Disney Plus Characters Will Appear In Avengers: Doomsday?

Right off the bat, it’s safe to say that any Disney Plus character that has appeared on the big screen in any form is likely safe to appear in Avengers: Doomsday. This would include Ms. Marvel and Kate Bishop (as seen in The Marvels), members of the TVA (as seen in Deadpool and Wolverine), and likely some members of What If…? thanks to Captain Carter’s appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Fans could also count Ironheart given she appeared in the MCU prior to her Disney Plus series being shot.

These leaves only a handful of big names in the MCU that haven’t made the jump from Disney Plus to the big screen. This includes She-Hulk, Moon Knight, Echo, Daredevil, Werewolf By Night, Man-Thing, and Agatha Harkness. When considering the context of Avengers: Doomsday and the focus on the Multiverse, it’s more likely than not that the directors would only bring in Daredevil and She-Hulk, as they are the only two characters with direct (and amicable) ties to any of the film’s heroes.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in May 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
