Luke Cage & Iron Fist Actors Seemingly Tease Return In ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2

Are Luke Cage in Iron Fist in Daredevil: Born Again? Recent activity on social media suggests that The Defenders may return for the currently filming season 2.

Fans were ecstatic when it was officially confirmed that Krysten Ritter would return as Jessica Jones in season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. However, that did leave on lingering question among longtime fans of The Defenders saga: what about Luke Cage and Iron Fist? While those two had the less popular shows by a country mile, they still hold a special place in the hearts of many fans, leaving some people worried that the duo would be lest on the cutting room floor of the MCU.

That was, until this past weekend. A pair of posts from Mike Colter and Finn Jones, who play Luke Cage and Iron Fist respectively, lit the internet on fire. The posts confirmed that both actors are currently staying in New York, which is where Daredevil: Born Again is currently filming. Given Krysten Ritter did something similar prior to the confirmation she was returning, many fans believe this is leading up to an official report on their return in season 2.

Will The Defenders Be In Daredevil Season 2?

Given the first season of Daredevil: Born Again ended with Wilson Fisk putting out an anti-vigilante task force, it’s not shocking that all of The Defenders would at least cameo in season 2. Though given Iron Fist and Luke Cage haven’t been reported as joining the project yet, it’s possible that they play comparatively smaller roles when compared to Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones or Jon Bernthal’s Punisher.

It’s likely that Marvel doesn’t want Daredevil: Born Again to just turn into The Defenders season 2. As such, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist will all likely play supporting roles to the story of Matt Murdock taking down Kingpin. This not to say of any other b-plots in the season, such as Muse and the potential resurrection of Foggy Nelson. With less than a dozen episodes on the docket, it seems like quite a lot to cram in.
