Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has made a touching spiritual offering in gratitude for the tremendous success of his latest film Thudarum. The veteran actor presented a golden vel (spear) to Lord Murugan at the Thirumalai Kumarasamy Temple, located in the Sengkottai sub-division of Tamil Nadu’s Tenkasi district.

According to reports, Mohanlal personally visited the temple, offered prayers, and presented the golden vel as a symbolic act of gratitude. This gesture carries added significance, as his character in Thudarum is depicted as a devoted follower of Lord Murugan, making the offering deeply meaningful both spiritually and artistically.
The actor also took to his official X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram accounts to express his gratitude, posting a heartfelt message that read, “Thank You, Almighty #Thudarum,” in appreciation of the film’s outstanding success.
Thudarum, directed by Tharun Moorthy, has turned into a massive blockbuster, grossing over Rs.100 crore from Kerala alone — a remarkable achievement and a rare milestone in the state’s film industry.
To celebrate the milestone, Mohanlal shared a commemorative poster that read, “A new chapter in Kerala box office history. A 100 crore Kerala gross.” Alongside the poster, he wrote, “#Thudarum storms into the record books… A milestone that we created together! Thank you, Kerala,” expressing his heartfelt appreciation to fans and audiences for their support.
The overwhelming success of Thudarum has been warmly received by theatre owners and distributors, who credit the film with revitalizing audience turnout in cinemas across Kerala.
