Doctor Doom certainly has a tough fight ahead of him in Avengers: Doomsday. Even ignoring the gods and planet busters native to the Sacred Timeline, the villain is also planning to take the fight across the Multiverse to rumble with the X-Men. And for anyone who knows anything about the mutant team, even some of its weakest members can be city busters on a good day.
This has left many to wonder how exactly the film will have Doctor Doom confront the X-Men without getting completely obliterated. The answer? It’s shockingly simple. Insider DanielRPK reveals that the villain will be deploying Sentinels against the X-Men in Avengers: Doomsday. While the robots are usually jobbers in live-action films, they can certainly pack a punch when they need to.
Will The X-Men Fight The Avengers In Doomsday?
However, it also seems as though Doctor Doom won’t be the only character that the X-Men fight in Avengers: Doomsday. Comments by Alan Cumming, who plays Nightcrawler, suggest that the team would be fighting the Fantastic Four alongside the Sentinels. While there’s no official rumor revealing the reason behind this, it’s possible that Reed Richards or H.E.R.B.I.E. get blamed for the Sentinel attack that will likely take place early in the film.
Regardless of who the X-Men fight, it’s likely that the final battle will feature all the heroes joining forces against Doctor Doom. The Sentinels will also likely play a role in the film, perhaps being retrofitted to act similar to DC’s Amazo: a robot which copies the powers of heroes. Though no matter what happens, it seems as though Avengers: Doomsday will be one heck of a spectacle!
