Sabrina Carpenter Claps Back HARD At Critics Of Her New Album Cover – But Fans Aren’t Totally Buying It!

]

Sabrina Carpenter is clapping back.

The pop princess has a new album coming out in August, Man’s Best Friend. But ever since she revealed the existence of the forthcoming album — and, really, its shocking cover design — last week, fans have been having a tizzy over it supposedly being too sexual.

Well, now the crooner has had enough because she just took to X (Twitter) to personally clap back at one critic!

So, as you will no doubt recall, last week the singing sensation dropped news that her new album will be available on August 29. Along with the reveal, she posted a pic of the album art, which showed her on her hands and knees while wearing a short black dress adorned with a ribbon, and black heels.

The issue fans took with the art, tho, is that the Please Please Please crooner is getting grabbed and held by a fistful of her hair by a mystery man wearing a black suit while her hand is on his leg. Hence, uh, the album title of Man’s Best Friend. Yeah.

You can see the album art in Sabrina’s announcement (below):

Well, ever since that album art was revealed last Wednesday, fans have been talking up a storm online about it. Many are saying Sabrina’s music is oversexualized, and she’s obsessed with men and the male gaze, and yadda, yadda, yadda. You know how all THAT chatter goes! Well, on Monday, the Espresso singer finally found the time to respond to one of those fans! And she isn’t holding back!

The fan in question took to X with a quote-tweet wondering about Carpenter’s supposed lack of personality:

“Does she have a personality outside of sex?”

To which Sabrina succinctly replied:

“Girl yes and it is goooooood.”

LOLz!!!

As to be expected, Sabrina’s loyal fans and Stans hopped right into the comments to show they have her back:

“here she goes”

“Please don’t change to prove a point after this era.”

“tell em girl”

“end them again for me Sabrina”

“Like, people keep forgetting you’re funny af.”

“hahhha lets goooooooo they be hating for no reason”

However… clearly not everybody felt that way.

Plenty of other people also jumped into the comments to criticize the crooner in that exact same vein — that she sexualizes herself and focuses on men far too much in her music. They argued:

“How bout you prove it then by not hating on men and sexualizing urself to them at the same time”

“Given that your public image heavily relies on sex appeal, it’s surprising to hear you deny it.”

“I don’t understand why people like her or her songs.”

“The drive to sexualize every aspect of life in one way or another has been a success. ”

“You waited all this time for the song to go #1… now you’re acting edgy. same old boring pattern”

“It’s crazy how her only appeal is sex appeal.”

“Claims she’s a feminist, degrades herself to satisfy hundreds of men”

Hmmm…

For what it’s worth, this has been a topic on the Feather singer’s mind recently. She spoke to Rolling Stone last week following her album announcement and was asked about this exact thing — accusations that she focuses her music and career too much on sex and men. To that, Sabrina had a wise response:

“It’s always so funny to me when people complain. They’re like, ‘all she does is sing about this.’ But those are the songs that you’ve made popular. Clearly you love sex. You’re obsessed with it.”

Using that logic, she sure ain’t wrong. She’s just giving the fans what they want!
