Annabelle Wallis is congratulating her boyfriend Sebastian Stan on his movie’s success.
Earning the top prize at the Dec. 2 Gotham Awards was A Different Man, the black comedy from writer-director Aaron Schimberg. The A24 film stars Stan, 42, as a man with neurofibromatosis who assumes a new identity after curing his disfiguring facial condition.
“BRAVO!” wrote Wallis, 40, with eight exclamation points on her Instagram Stories on the night of the awards ceremony. Her caption accompanied a photo posted from The Gotham Film & Media Institute announcing A Different Man’s win for the best feature honor.
Wallis, who has been romantically linked to Stan since May 2022, shouted out “this incredible team” of Schimberg and actors Stan, Adam Pearson and Renate Reinsve.
A Different Man hit theaters Sept. 20 after earning critical raves during its premieres at the 2024 Sundance and Berlin Film Festivals. Stan plays actor Edward Lemuel, whose reinvention as Guy Moratz “quickly turns into a nightmare, as he becomes obsessed with reclaiming what was lost,” per an official synopsis.
The film was nominated at this year’s Gotham Awards for Pearson’s supporting performance and best feature. In the latter category, it bested Anora, Babygirl, Challengers and Nickel Boys. The 2024 Gotham winners included special honorees Timothée Chalamet and James Mangold, Angelina Jolie, Zendaya, director Denis Villeneuve and the casts of Sing Sing and The Piano Lesson.
