A 13-year-old boy is dead, and his two siblings are critically injured after a crash in Oregon.

According to the Eugene Police Department, the crash occurred at the River Road and Beacon Drive intersection in Eugene on Saturday, Dec. 7, when a Toyota Corolla with five teen occupants collided with a Chevy Suburban.

The driver of the Suburban, who was the vehicle’s sole occupant, remained on the scene and is cooperating, police said.

Four of the teens in the Corolla, who police described as in “their mid to late teens,” were transported to a local hospital. The other teen, identified as Easton Bounds by a family member to KEZI 9 News and in a GoFundMe created by Brandi Crockett on behalf of Steven Bounds, is dead.

The GoFundMe identified two other passengers in the Corolla as Easton’s brother, Steven Jr., and sister, Ashton.

According to KEZI 9 News, Steven Jr. had to undergo surgery to repair his pelvis and is awaiting another surgery to fix his broken jaw. Ashton remains in critical condition and will also have surgery.

Resident Henry Thiesfeld, who lives near the crash area, told the station that the incident is “a sad thing to be talking about.”

“My wife went out there and looked and said that the intersection was just full of emergency vehicles, and we stayed away because obviously it was terrible,” he recalled.

The Euguene Police Department tells PEOPLE that the crash remains under investigation and there are no updates at this time.

“These children need your prayers now more than ever as they face long roads ahead. We also ask for prayers for the two other children involved in the accident, who are in need of healing as well,” the GoFundMe shares.

Easton was a youth football player with Pleasant Hill Youth Football And Cheer and is remembered as “a bright and vibrant young boy who brought light, love, and laughter to everyone he met.”
