Is Gwyneth Paltrow on her way back to the MCU? An Avengers: Doomsday rumor suggests that the actress may make her return as Pepper Potts.
Ever since it was announced that Robert Downey Jr. would be making his grand return to the MCU as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, fans have been wondering what characters may be making their way back to the silver screen for the project. Some thought that this project would be the chance for the franchise’s newest heroes to get their time to shine, while others believe that Downey’s return marks a sign of the universe focusing on its old guard.
The newest rumor about the project seems to point to the latter prospects. According to scooper MyTimeToShineHello, Gwyneth Paltrow is set to make her return as Pepper Potts in Avengers: Doomsday. While the actress did make a brief appearance in Spider-Man: Far From Home, her last substantial role in the MCU was as Rescue in Avengers: Endgame, where she witnessed the death of Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark.
Will Gwyneth Paltrow Return In Avengers: Doomsday?
Given the villain of Avengers: Doomsday will be at least some kind of a multiversal variant of Pepper Pott’s husband, it would make sense for Gwyneth Paltrow to appear in some form or fashion. While it’s not likely that she’ll be donning the Rescue suit in the film, she could return in a small cameo to simply react to Doctor Doom having the same face as Tony Stark.
Though it’s also possible her return could be much more impactful than fans expect. The Russo Brothers have been open about framing Thanos as the protagonist of Avengers: Infinity War. If they take a similar approach to Avengers: Doomsday, Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts could serve as an integral part of the character’s internal arc throughout the film.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in May 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
