Do we believe this story about Ben Affleck wanting to get back with Jennifer Garner? It reeks of parasocial projection, shipping culture, and wishful thinking… And we TOTALLY buy it! Or at least, we’re leasing it with an option to buy.
Look, the man is clearly going through some kind of midlife crisis re-evaluation thing. He already tried to make it work with Jennifer Lopez again, why not follow up with Garner? It worked last time! For a while anyway…

So when a Ben source said he “would love another chance” with the Peppermint star, we could just really see it, you know? According to another new source, Ben’s vision is even clearer! A source told DailyMail.com on Thursday he has a plan:
“Ben has so many ideas popping in his head, he feels like he knows just what to do with her.”
We mean, the man knows romance. He was spot-on that his love letters could get him another chance with J.Lo. He owned her heart with a pen, is that how he put it? So… what’s the clever path Casanova has to winning back his ex-wife? Making a movie with her!
LOLz! OK, he really is trying to just re-live the mid 2000s, isn’t he? They co-starred in Daredevil, and fell in love, and he’s trying to recreate that?
Actually, no! This is a bit different. This is a gift only he can give her — using his Hollywood weight to get her a role that shows off the deep well of talent she so rarely gets to display these days:
“He feels that her true talents have not been brought to light and he is just the producer who can find her the right material. She can do both drama and comedy so he feels there are a lot of opportunities for her skills.”
It’s a good point, really! She’s given glimpses of her range in roles like 13 Going On 30, Juno, and Dallas Buyers Club, but the roles that really display her skill are getting thin on the ground. A project that could show off all of it at once? That would really be something!
Ooh, and you know who’s good that she could co-star with? Matt Damon! That guy has killer range, too! LOLz!
