The villains of Spider-Man: Brand New Day may have finally been revealed! A new report reveals the three characters Marvel wants to headline the upcoming film.
The rumor mill has absolutely been overflowing in recent weeks when it comes to who the villains might be in Spider-Man: Brand New Day early reports stated that the Sinister Six was scrapped for Mephisto. New rumors suggest that a number of villains with connections with Asian culture may appear in the project. Though, ultimately, Marvel has stayed silent regarding any of these reports.
And it seems that’s because they were preparing to launch a cannonball directly through the bow of the S.S. Rumor Rummy. During the Disney Blockbuster Consumer Products presentation in Las Vegas (via ComicBookMovie.com) this past week, Marvel showed off some exclusive sneak peeks for their upcoming films. This included images that seemed to suggest that the villains of Spider-Man: Brand New Day will include Scorpion, Tombstone, and Boomerang.
Who Are The Villains In Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
Out of all the villains, Boomerang might actually be the easiest to explain. Marvel has been pushing the character hard as a supporting character in the comics, with him even becoming Spider-Man’s roommate. Given Peter Parker likely needs to find a new apartment in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it wouldn’t be shocking for him to bring in someone else to help pay the bills.
Tombstone and Scorpion are also two of the most requested villains to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Scorpion specifically was teased as far back as Marvel’s first solo film with Tom Holland. Bringing the character back, alongside another street level villain, could allow the studio to capture the “Friendly Neighborhood” vibe that fans have been begging for.
