The internet has been absolutely flooded with reports about who the MCU’s next leading antagonist would be, with everyone from Mephisto to Tombstone being said to take on a role. This not to mention the supposed concept art leaks that don’t line up with anything that anyone has heard about the film.
Now fans have one more rumor to add to the pile. Scooper MyTimeToShineHello reveals that Aquaman and Batman Forever star Nicole Kidman is being eyed for the role of a villain in the film. It doesn’t appear as though Marvel Studios has approached her for the role yet, so it’ll likely be some time before fans officially know if the actress decides to take the plunge into the MCU with Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Who Is Nicole Kidman Playing In The MCU?
Of course, given how little fans know about Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it’s hard to exactly place what villain Nicole Kidman might play if this rumor is true. Going back to the oldest reports, there were some speculating that the film could loosely adapt Spider Island, suggesting that Kidman could take on the role of the Spider Queen that transforms people into spiders.
However, if Spider-Man: Brand New Day takes the multiverse angle, it’s possible that Nicole Kidman plays Shathra. While a slightly obscure pick, the character is an insect goddess intent on killing Spider Totems throughout the multiverse. The character could play a role in bringing Sony’s Spider-Verse into the MCU, even if it likely wouldn’t be fans’ first pick for a storyline.
