Brave New World’ Rumor Suggests Shockingly Brief Screentime For Red Hulk

]

Red Hulk may not be as big as fans think! A new rumor suggests that the villain may not have the largest presence in Captain America: Brave New World.

The marketing for Captain America: Brave New World has been interesting. Trailers have been all over the place, narrowing in on a specific sliver of the film while leaving most of it up to speculation. This is emphasized by the fact that the supposed main villain of the film, The Leader, has been pushed aside in order to make Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk the face of the film.

Yet despite being the bulk of the marketing, he likely won’t be taking up most of the runtime. A rumor from CrypticHD Quality states that the reason fans keep seeing the same footage of Red Hulk is that he’s “barely” in the film. This was corroborated not long later by The Beyond Reporter, who stated that the character will only have a single action scene in Captain America: Brave New World, amounting to about four minutes.

Red Hulk’s True Role In Captain America 4

Something this rumor misses is the context of how climaxes work in a film. While a four minute action scene seems short, it actually maintains the standard of most final showdowns in blockbusters, especially in the MCU. Captain America: Brave New World actually edges out Captain America: Civil War, whose final fight with Iron Man lasted just around three minutes as opposed to Red Hulk’s reported four.

The structure of films also plays into this. It’s likely Harrison Ford only transforms into Red Hulk at the very climax of Captain America: Brave New World. So while the character is there throughout, he only plays the crimson goliath for a small portion of that. One could argue that it was a mistake by Marvel to lean into this aspect so heavily for marketing given these circumstances, but otherwise the project seems to be keeping the industry standard.

Captain America: Brave New World is currently slated to hit theaters on February 14, 2025. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
