Sam Asghari is taking credit for his prenuptial agreement with Britney Spears!
While on the Trading Secrets podcast this Monday, the 31-year-old said before he wed the Princess of Pop, HE was the one that recommended a prenup:
“I wanted her to have a prenup. I wanted to make sure she’s protected, because throughout her life, everybody — I don’t know one person that’s ever been in her life that didn’t take advantage of her. So it’s very sad. I wanted to make sure that I’m the person that [didn’t] do that.”
That’s so commendable! What a great way to keep it from seeming like an unromantic thing!
Later on in the episode, Sam told host Jason Tartick he believes prenups should be about one party receiving “everything or nothing”:
“So basically, you either have it all because this is all for you. We’re building it for you or nothing. It’s not like we’re not going to think about half.”
Inneresting.
We think he means you get everything if you stay together, nothing if you don’t? No taking half if you break up?
Of course, when Sam and Britney first tied the knot we were told they had an “ironclad” prenup — he was going to receive nothing from the pop star’s fortune. But then came the drama of him pushing back against that agreement, and even hiring an expert to fight the legal docs. Not to mention how he allegedly had access to some “embarrassing” videos he was threatening to release in order to get their prenup renegotiated.

So if it really was his idea, why the hell would he fight it so much? Seems like it’s possibly a tactic to save face… and that was further alluded to later in the podcast episode. When Jason pointed out that Sam had pretty much become “labeled” as someone who was trying to take advantage of her, the fitness guru said:
“I never get mad at the general public or fans or people that are seeing your life from a distance, especially now that I’m not in a relationship for over two years or a year and something. Looking from an outside perspective, I see there’s an age difference, there’s a fame difference, there’s this, there’s that. But realistically, we met as costars.”
So he’s playing it cool now? Like he just loved her as a person and never thought of her as Britney Spears?? Yup!
He added on that he wasn’t “too familiar” with Britney’s music when they met, either:
“I was working alongside her. And that happens in the acting world because everybody’s busy and you’re working on set and you’re spending a lot of time, sometimes more time than your own family. So it’s just natural how that works, just like it is in the office. If you’re working in the office, you meet a coworker. It is but also no matter what, there’s always gonna be people that have their own opinions. And I respect that.”
Hmm. What are YOUR opinions then, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments (below).
