Is Daredevil actually going to be in Avengers: Doomsday? Charlie Cox sets the record straight on if his character will return to the big screen next year.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to be one of the most stacked casts in the history of cinema. The project is set to bring together Marvel heroes, new and world, for a once-in-a-lifetime crossover event. However, with so many actors that COULD appear, not all of them will make the cut. And perhaps the character fans are most worried about getting the axe is Charlie Cox’s Daredevil.
Fans have been calling for Charlie Cox to appear as Daredevil in an Avengers movie since long before Avengers: Doomsday was even a glint in Kevin Feige’s eye. Real old heads remember speculation that Daredevil and Luke cage were going to appear in Civil War alongside the Thor robot Ragnarok. Yet despite how badly fans want the crossover, a tangle of legal rights and contractual obligations have prevented that dream from becoming a reality.
Is Daredevil In Avengers: Doomsday?
Fans finally have another chance to see Daredevil alongside the rest of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Avengers: Doomsday. In fact, it may be the best shot they’ve ever had. But with no official announcement, the internet is starting to get antsy. One reporter decided to ask Charlie Cox about the possibility during his appearance at the Disney Upfronts, and the response was…less than promising.
“Not me,” Cox admitted to The Hollywood Reporter when asked if he’d appear in Avengers: Doomsday. “I’m excited to see it, but I’m not involved in that.”
Of course, it’s possible that Charlie Cox is lying. He even has the perfect cover of filming Daredevil: Born Again season 2 concurrently with Avengers: Doomsday. However, that also means that he could discretely film scenes as Daredevil on the set of his show without tipping fans off to him traveling to London. So fans likely won’t know the truth until the trailers for the film start dropping.
