Chrissy Teigen is ready to clock out from social media — between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
On Saturday, the Lip Sync Battle alum took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the United States TikTok ban — hours before access was restored. And she pretty much called everything, including Donald Trump’s involvement! She said in a Story video:
“Let’s talk TikTok. Everyone’s bummed, ‘Oh my god I can’t believe it’s shut down’ — it’s not going to be shut down. It’s on a hiatus for now, it’s going to come back, and it’s going to come back under Trump’s leadership so every young person’s all of the sudden going to be like, ‘Oh my god I’m so grateful it’s back, he brought it back, he brought back free speech’ … It gets to be claimed by him as this amazing thing he did for people. That’s for sure going to happen. And you’re all going to fall right into it.”
Well, here we are! LOLz!

In a follow-up vid, the 39-year-old proposed a WILD plan: to shut off access to ALL social media for 12 hours a day:
“I personally think that one day there will be the most incredible rule. My first rule would be — I think the government or some kind of ethics committee, somebody, should shut off social media between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Leave it all up, everybody gets to do everything they want, but only between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Shut it off. Done.”
She added in a third Story vid:
“I come from the days where we had nothing and then we saw something. Guys, life was great. Life was awesome before this. I know it’s hard to see it now, but it’s doable. It’s very doable. This doesn’t have to be our lives. And I say this for myself as well because obviously I’m on here right now doing this. But it doesn’t have to define us or be our whole lives.”
We agree that everyone should be able to step away from their phones, but enacting a government rule shutting it down EVERY DAY for 12 hours sounds extreme! Maybe she can just set time limits on her phone?? It’s all about autonomy!
On Sunday, the mom of four re-shared @TheShadeRoom’s post on about TikTok being restored because of Donald Trump. And clearly, she wasn’t surprised. She wrote:
