DC Studios just can’t get enough of Josh Brolin! A rumor suggests that the actor is still being eyed for a role following him turning down the role of Hal Jordan in Lanterns.
Perhaps the hottest rumor to grace the DC Universe fandom was one stating that Josh Brolin was being eyed to play Hal Jordan in Lanterns. The reason it became so prolific was because, unlike most rumors, this one turned out to be true! And while Brolin would eventually go on to turn down the role, it did get fans hoping that the actor would eventually join DC Studios in a different role.
That hope stands at the center of a rumor from insider DanielRPK, who revealed that DC Studios is still interested in bringing Josh Brolin to the DC Universe in some form. No role was stated as being in mind for the actor, suggesting that the studio may not have a specific character in mind at this time. Rather, they simply have the star on their radar for future projects.
Who Could Josh Brolin Play In The DC Universe?
Josh Brolin has already had a prolific history with comic book adaptions, having played Thanos, Cable, Agent K, and even DC’s own Jonah Hex. This means that the actor has been in the limelight for fans before, giving them plenty of time to craft their perfect DC Universe fancast. Some popular choices include Jim Gordon, the Comedian, and Kilowog.
Yet perhaps the most fitting fancast for the DC Universe as it stands would be Deathstroke. Josh Brolin has had a long history of playing gruff, grey-haired mercenaries. DC Studios is also reportedly already planning a film based on the character with Bane, suggesting a high-profile actor may take the role in order to push the film to general audiences.
