Is Ironheart going to be in Avengers: Doomsday? Dominique Thorne teases that she may make her return as the character sooner than fans might think.
After nearly three years of absence, Dominique Thorne is officially set to make her return to the MCU with Ironheart, a Disney Plus series focused on her eponymous character. However, once that project is over, fans are wondering if the heroine will be benched for another three years – if not more – as Avengers: Doomsday sets up the beginning of the end of the Multiverse Saga.
Yet things may not be all doom and gloom for Ironheart. When speaking about the Disney Plus series, Dominique Thorne was asked by The Direct if there were any plans for her to return to the role during the events of Avengers: Doomsday. While she didn’t give a straight answer about if she was going to appear in the film, she did tease that the odds may be in her favor for a cameo.
“Oh, you know, what can I say? The odds might be in our favor. Who knows? We’ll see. We’ll see.”
Ironheart’s Role In Avengers: Doomsday
Many might assume that, if Ironheart does appear in Avengers: Doomsday, Dominique Thorne would be sharing a lot of scenes with Robert Downey Jr. However, given how packed that character’s time sheet will likely be in the film, her return will likely focus on characters she already has an association with. This leads many to believe that she may play a role in whatever storyline is being played out with Shuri and Wakanda.
However, one key plotline that Avengers: Doomsday will likely return to is that of the Young Avengers, with Kate Bishop and Kamala Khan forming their own superhero team with Cassie Lang. Given Dominique Thorne fits the bill of legacy female superheroes, it’s very possible that Ironheart does take a starring role in that team for Avengers: Doomsday.
