Bobby Deol, Aaditi Pohankar, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Darshan Kumaar and director Prakash Jha attended the trailer launch of Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 Part 2 in Mumbai. Bobby and Prakash stole their show with their comments.
Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 Part 2 trailer launch: Prakash Jha speaks about the surprise casting: “Bobby Deol seedha, saral, khoobsurat aur acche dil waala insaan dikhta hai. Aur iska dil agar kaala ho toh kitna maza aayega!”
Prakash Jha revealed what happened when Bobby Deol came to meet him for the narration of the series. He said, “Bobby heard the story with a lot of seriousness. He then said, ‘My hair is very long. I’ll have to cut my hair short’. I asked him, ‘Which character do you think that I am offering you?’. He replied, ‘The character of the cop’. I told him, ‘Darshan Kumaar ka role kyun kha raha hai tu? Tu Baba ka role karega!’”
The host asked what was it about Bobby Deol that made him lock him for the role of Baba Nirala. Prakash Jha raised laughs as he said, “Woh kisi ne nahin dekha tha. Sirf mujhe dikha tha!” He explained, “Bobby seedha, saral, khoobsurat aur acche dil waala insaan dikhta hai. Aur iska dil agar kaala ho toh kitna maza aayega!”
Prakash Jha explained further, “I wanted to cast a real-life hero and then explore the darkness within him. I felt Bobby was amazing and fit the bill. We had considered many other actors. Eventually, I told casting director Shruti Mahajan, ‘Bobby ko bulao’! We anyway wanted to work with each other for a long time.”
Bobby Deol said, “Aashram is close to my heart. All of you are here and I could see your smiling faces. I could have never imagined that I would get so much love. It was a rebirth of me as an actor.”
He also stated, “I was dying to work with (Prakash Jha) for a long time. He might not remember but I met him for the first time while I was dubbing for Gupt (1997) at B R Studios. After some years, he offered me a film lekin tab baat bani nahin.”
Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 Part 2 releases on Amazon MX Player on February 27.
