Is Franklin Richards the key to Avengers: Doomsday? The iconic super-baby is set to get a new swathe of powers in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
It’s been an open secret that Franklin Richards is set to make his live-action debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. This left many people scratching their head given the titular team is set to appear in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, with the internet wondering how they’ll be bringing a baby into battle, even if that baby is a reality-warping Herald of Galactus.
This question has seemingly been answered with a new power granted to Franklin Richards in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. A new rumor attributed to scooper MyTimeToShineHello (though at this time, there’s no record of the post on their social media), states that Franklin will be able to transport himself between universes in Avengers: Doomsday. This not only would explain why Marvel’s First Family gets entangled in the multiverse saga, but potentially why Galactus is after him.
Franklin Richards’ Role In The Fantastic Four: First Steps
A prior rumor confirmed to be from MyTimeToShineHello suggests that Galactus will be pursuing Franklin Richards as his primary driver in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. While many assumed that the Devourer of Worlds would want the character for his powers, it’s possible that Galactus wants the child in order to interfere in the upcoming events of Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars.
Galactus did make an appearing in both the original and 2015 versions of Secret Wars, meaning his influence wouldn’t be a stretch. However, given Reed and Sue aren’t likely going to give up their newborn child in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, it’s more likely than not his plan fails, leaving the super team to take up his role in using Franklin Richards to defend the multiverse.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps opens on July 25, 2025. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
