It’s been a grueling week for Hugh Jackman and his estranged wife Deborra-Lee Furness as she finally filed for divorce over a year and a half after they announced their split. As we’ve been following, things got messy when Deborra-Lee seemed to confirm rumors Hugh cheated on her with his Music Man co-star. Even though a divorce settlement has reportedly been agreed upon between the estranged husband and wife, Deborra-Lee took a shot at the X-Men star by releasing a telling statement to DailyMail.com:
“My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal. It’s a profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us.”
Yeesh…
A source later told the same outlet that Hugh was “extremely disappointed after reading what his ex had said” as he believed she would keep things light in the eye of the public:
“There was no stipulation that she could not address this but there was an unwritten understanding that she would not trash him to the press. She got around this by not naming him — instead focusing on how she felt.”
We then heard Hugh and Deborra-Lee see his relationship with Sutton “differently” because while he may have initiated it after they broke up, “she may have hoped they would get back together,” according to Us Weekly. It’s just a LOT! And certainly a major thing hovering over Hugh right now… So how exactly is Sutton handling it all? Well, on Saturday, a source told Us Weekly:
“[Hugh] is still with Sutton, and they are trying to navigate this delicately. She has been very supportive.”
Standing by Hugh through it all! He’s lucky!

The source went on that The Greatest Showman star is “leaning on close friends and focusing more on work to get him through it.” They added:
“It’s hard to unravel 30 years of a relationship, so he is trying to handle it with as much dignity as possible. He wants to respect Deborra-Lee and not intentionally hurt her.”
The Wolverine star is also reportedly “heartbroken” that Deborra-Lee is “feeling this way and hopes time will heal wounds.”
What a mess! Hugh is lucky to have someone like Sutton to lean on… We hope Deborra-Lee has a great group of loved ones to lean on, too!
