Hugh Jackman‘s ex finally filed for divorce this week. It had been nearly two years since the X-Man and wife of 27 years Deborra-Lee Furness first announced their marriage was over. So the filing wasn’t a surprise — but her statement was!
If you didn’t see it, the Correlli star got a little jab in by telling DailyMail.com on the occasion of the legal move:
“My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal. It’s a profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us.”
Daaaaaaaaamn…
The “traumatic journey of betrayal.” She did everything short of signing an affidavit confirming Hugh cheated on her with his new girlfriend Sutton Foster! Wow!

How did the Deadpool & Wolverine star react to his ex-wife finally getting her own claws out in the press? A source told the very same outlet, DailyMail.com, that yeah, that hit as hard as it sounded:
“Hugh was extremely disappointed after reading what his ex had said.”
What did he expect? Apparently he thought she’d keep it above the belt, despite the fact he hadn’t! The insider explained:
“There was no stipulation that she could not address this but there was an unwritten understanding that she would not trash him to the press. She got around this by not naming him — instead focusing on how she felt.”
Oh, an “unwritten understanding” eh? Bub, you lost all claim to any understanding if you cheated on your wife! Even if you’re both in the biz, in our experience a woman scorned leads to an earth scorched. You can’t expect some kind of gentlewomanly civility in response to betrayal! She ain’t in your corner anymore! Deborra-Lee isn’t Team Hugh, and it isn’t her responsibility to protect his name! Sorry ’bout it! Man, if this is really how Hugh feels, we’re having a hard time sympathizing…
Apparently Furness only folded and filed (which helps Hugh and his new relationship move forward) after he “caved in to all of her divorce requests.” But the fact he did all that first makes this hurt even more.
Uh huh. So it feels like he thought he could trust her, but then the rug was pulled out from under him? Yeah, she wouldn’t know anything about that feeling, huh?
