Is DC Studios bringing something big to San Diego Comic-Con? James Gunn gives fans a big teaser about what may be in store when he returns to Hall H!
San Diego Comic-Con has always been a bastion for comic book news, everywhere from the page to the silver screen. Which is why it’s been so odd that the film side of DC has been all but absent in recent years, with DC Studios not even making an appearance at SDCC last year due to James Gunn and Peter Safran being wrist-deep in preparations for the franchise.
So when it was announced that DC Studios would be making their grand return to San Diego Comic-Con after their arduous break, the internet immediately erupted in speculation. Their SDCC panel isn’t set to happen until a few weeks after Superman hits theaters, giving James Gunn and Peter Safran plenty of time to see just how much runway the DC Universe truly has in the coming years.
What Will DC Show At San Diego Comic-Con?
However, fans may want to temper their expectations a tad bit. Along with the announcement that DC Studios would be making its return to San Diego Comic-Con, James Gunn tipped his hand a bit about what they can expect from the franchise’s panel. The director reveals that only he and John Cena will be present to promote the upcoming season of Peacemaker, although that doesn’t mean SDCC attendees won’t get a scope on other DC Universe projects.
Of course, it’s possible that James Gunn is lying a bit by omission. While only he and John Cena will be in attendance, he could still have some sneak-peek footage lined up from upcoming projects. Fans shouldn’t be shocked if the first official look at Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is shown off at San Diego Comic-Con. Though even if it is just a panel about Peacemaker, it is nice to see DC Studios finally coming home to SDCC.
San Diego Comic-Con takes place July 24-27, 2025. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
