Khloé Kardashian is getting called out for talking politics!
On Friday as fires continued to wreak havoc on Los Angeles, the new podcaster took to her Instagram Story to share a clip of Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley claiming Mayor Karen Bass was responsible for alleged budget cuts within the fire department ahead of the fires. During a Fox11 interview, Crowley claimed she asked Bass for more money to repair fire engines and hydrants around the city but was rejected. This, of course, is important since some hydrants were not working during the devastating wildfires. KoKo passionately captioned the clip:
“I stand by YOU Chief Crowley!!!! You spoke the truth and you had tears in your eyes because I can tell you didn’t even want to say that but it was THE TRUTH!!!!”

She continued:
“Thank you for being honest @losangelesfiredepartment Chief Crowley. Mayor Bass you are a joke!!!!”
Heated!
While the Mayor has been receiving a ton of criticism online, not everyone was supportive of Khloé’s sudden activism. Over on X (Twitter), people put her on blast, arguing:
“It’s interesting how Khloe Elon Musk Kardashian has been very quick to call Mayor Karen Bass ‘A JOKE’ but had no smoke for [Donald] Trump, JD Vance or Elon [Musk] during this past [presidential] election.”
“It’s something about the way Khloe Kardashian has been on IG reposting nothing but right-wing MAGA influencers’ content denigrating Mayor Bass in light of these devastating fires that don’t sit right with me. I never once saw her call out former Mayor [Eric] Garcetti similarly…”
Mayor Garcetti was in office in LA from 2013 to 2022, by the way. More critics continued:
“I’m tired of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass getting demolished out here”
“Let’s get something clear. If you are from LA, you know Los Angeles is a specific area. Khloe K needs to talk to HER own Mayor Alicia Weintraub. Yeah the Mayor of Calabasas.”
“Khloe got some nerve calling the mayor of LA a joke when she literally has Tristan Thompson as a [baby dad] girl”
“Khloe Kardashian is way too comfortable publicly calling out black women and I don’t like that at all.”
“Khloe Kardashian, an extremely privileged woman, instead of being boots on the ground to help, decides to use her platform to run her f**kin mouth.”
To be fair, while we haven’t seen the mother of two out volunteering, she and her entire family donated tons of food to firefighters before evacuating their homes last week. So, she is helping out! And she has support, as well.
Some folks were on the Good America founder’s side, one person pointed out:
“What Khloé Kardashian said about the mayor is so right. I don’t know why y’all are hitting on. The woman [and] the Kardashians out of touch, yes, however, we need to stick together and have Bass and other California officials to resign because our city is mostly gone.”
Unfortunately, the negative sure seems to be outweighing the positive for her, though! And the drama continues…
Not only are people mad that she is choosing to speak out against this politician and not others, but they also brought to attention reports about her family’s excessive water usage! According to the Los Angeles Times, in 2022, two KarJenners were slammed for using WAY too much water amid a drought. Specifically, Kourtney Kardashian reportedly went over her June water budget by 101,000 gallons and Kim Kardashian used more than 232,000 gallons.
Wow!!!
While this was years ago, and perhaps they got their s**t together before these fires, it seemed hypocritical to some that Khloé was calling out the mayor for this water issue when her own family had ignored similar problems in the past. That said, rumors that Khloé exceeded water limits are not accurate as she was not listed in the article (which you can see HERE). Still, this is not the best look!
