Marvel Reportedly Eyeing ‘Mad Max’ Director George Miller For ‘Thor’ And ‘Hulk’ Projects

]

Is George Miller joining Marvel Studios? A rumor suggests the studio wants the Mad Max director to helm either a Hulk or Thor project.

George Miller stands as one of the greatest “What If’s” in comic book history. Before Marvel took over the superhero scene with the MCU, DC recruited one of the greatest action directors of all time to helm a project starring their predominant superhero team. Titled Justice League: Mortal, the film would have seen the Mad Max and Happy Feet director adapt JLA: Tower of Babel and Superman: Sacrifice for the silver screen. Sadly, the project was ultimately scrapped.

Mad Max fans may finally be getting their dream of seeing George Miller tackle an iconic superhero franchise. A new report by World of Reel suggests that Marvel Studios has reached out to the beloved director to helm an upcoming project for the MCU. Though it seems which specific project isn’t settled, with the rumor revealing Miller may be being courted for both Thor 5 and a World War Hulk project.

Will George Miller Direct A Marvel Film?

Interestingly, the rumor seems to note that George Miller is one of many directors Marvel has reached out to regarding a World War Hulk film. A project based on the iconic comic has long been rumored for the MCU and, if the report is to be believed, is hoping to shoot sometime later this year. Though if the director is Miller is still yet to be seen.

The meeting between Marvel and George Miller was also reportedly set up by Chris Hemsworth, who previously worked with the director on the Mad Max spin-off Furiosa. Their prior work has reportedly made Miller interested in helming Thor 5 for the MCU, reportedly broaching the idea during meetings. Though given how poorly Furiosa performed at the box office, the director may end up helming both if he wants another Mad Max project greenlit!

Thor 5 and World War Hulk are reportedly in development for the MCU. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
