Is Kang the Conqueror finally making his return? A new rumor suggests that Marvel Studios is planning to bring their most infamous villain back to the MCU.
While the MCU has been awash with controversies in recent years, perhaps none were more public than the separation between Marvel Studios and Jonathan Majors. The actor portrayed Kang the Conqueror, who was being set up as the next big bad for their franchise. However, following a messy and very public court case that ended in Majors being found guilty for assault (among other charges), the studio parted ways with the actor and changed course.
However, it seems that, while Marvel has no plans of reuniting with Jonathan Majors, they still have plans for Kang the Conqueror. A new rumor from scooper MyTimeToShineHello suggests that the studio has plans for the character to wrap up up their arc in the MCU. While no further information is provided, the post does suggest that the villain may make their return in either Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars.
How Kang Could Return To The MCU?
The rumor mill has been turning for quite some time regarding how Kang the Conqueror’s story could be wrapped up without the involvement of Jonathan Majors. Perhaps the most popular suggests that Marvel plans to have the character collide with Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, resulting in a brief but poignant return to the MCU that results in audiences fearing the newest big bad played by Robert Downey Jr.
It’s also possible that Marvel lets Kang the Conqueror sit out the MCU’s conclusion to the multiverse saga. This would tee the character up for a return later down the line when all of the controversies surrounding Jonathan Majors have fully died down. Though what project that could be is unclear, as Marvel has kept their slate following Avengers: Doomsday rather close to their chest.
