The Duchess of Sussex is reportedly trying to become besties with one of the world’s favorite Friends — and it’s not going well! Jen is moving into the neighborhood. And according to RadarOnline.com on Wednesday, Meg has started to “love-bomb” the actress!
Earlier this month, Jennifer’s alleged stalker crashed into the gates of her Bel Air home, causing her to finally make the move to the ritzy neighborhood. Apparently she purchased a home in Montecito from Oprah Winfrey back in 2022, and now she plans to make it a “fortress” with lots of security measures. The hope is it will offer the peace and privacy she’s seeking. Understandable after that scary incident! What she probably didn’t bargain for, though, is an overly friendly neighbor hounding her…

Montecito is, of course, where Meghan has planted her flag — and she’s hoping Jennifer’s arrival will help secure their friendship, something she’s been dreaming about for years now. Insiders claimed the Suits alum has been sending gifts to The Morning Show lead, such as jams and luxury wellness products (we bet from her own brand, LOLz). An insider shared:
“Meghan is thrilled that Jennifer is moving to Montecito. She’s been trying to get closer to her for years, and now that they’re neighbors, she sees this as the perfect opportunity.”
But another friend said Jennifer is not into it:
“Jen appreciates the gestures but is focused on settling into her new home and prioritizing her safety. She’s not looking to expand her social circle at the moment.”
Even if the TV icon were looking for new pals, Meg doesn’t make the cut, the source harshly furthered:
“She also sees Meghan as poisonous and wants nothing to do with the drama she creates around herself and with the royal family.”
Yikes!!!
Proving just how uninterested she is in the Confessions of a Female Founder podcaster’s offerings, the source detailed:
“Jen has quietly binned Meg’s gifts and not replied to any of her desperate invites for chats. She knows Meg also wants her as a guest on her podcast, but she’s having none of it. She doesn’t want her jam — or her friendship!”
Brutal! But if she feels this is all about an interview, we can’t really blame the 56-year-old for having her guard up. Sounds like she might think her new neighbor is trying to take advantage of her at a vulnerable time.
With that in mind, a source previously told the outlet that the Just Go With It alum has been “at the top of Meghan’s wish list as a BFF” because “she has so much influence and prestige in the business and is on first-name terms with all the big power players.” Another confidant speculated that if Meghan could “find a way to ride Jen’s coattails” it could be “her ticket to the very top in Hollywood.” An insider added that Meghan is “frantic” about getting back inside the “showbiz tent.” Is it all about clout-chasing?! Oof. In any case, Jennifer “just ain’t interested” in getting involved with her in any way.
Despite trying to get mutual friends to connect them “for years,” according to another source, “it hasn’t quite happened yet.” They said:
“Jen’s been polite but she’s always so busy, and that 90-mile commute from Jen’s place in Bel-Air to Montecito makes it so much harder. But now, with Jen moving into her new place, it’s opening a whole new door for Meghan — and she couldn’t be more excited.”
But it doesn’t sound like the distance was actually the roadblock here. Meghan is gonna have to go looking for another friend! Maybe Courteney Cox will move in nearby…
