Millie Bobby Brown is hitting back at comments she looks older than she really is!
The 21-year-old just underwent a BIG hair transformation a few weeks ago when she debuted a new blonde look ahead of her 21st birthday. Some fans think she made the change in her hopes of snagging the role of Britney Spears in the upcoming new biopic, but nothing’s been confirmed. Others are just stunned by how much older her new ‘do makes her look!

After her appearances at the SAG Awards on Sunday and the LA premiere of her new Netflix movie The Electric State on Monday, there has been a look of chatter about her appearance. First, see her red carpet outfits (below):

She definitely looks more grown up!! Is it her hair? Or those dresses, though?? Either way, fans had thoughts!
On X (Twitter), people chimed in:
“From 11 to 41”
“Looking in her 40s wth”
“Looks at least 21 years older.”
“man either she has to fire her stylist or she’s aging terribly”
“Literally had to double check it was her who turned 21 the other day and not 40”
“She looks so old?”
“The comments are so mean (and I agree with all of them)”
Yeesh! The comments were so widespread that British Vogue writer Morgan Fargo actually penned an opinion piece to defend the Stranger Things star on Thursday, titled, No One Cares How Old You Think Millie Bobby Brown Looks. In part, the author urged:
“This obsession with women and their age is a form of misogny. Beyond that, it’s boring. Millie Bobby Brown is an award-winning actor with several blockbuster roles under her belt. We should be applauding the achievements and precocious talent of this still extremely young star (and be mindful of the fact she was a child when she entered the spotlight), not cruelly dissecting her appearance. Rumours are circulating that Brown could be set to play Britney Spears — who suffered a breakdown in the harsh glare of the tabloid spotlight in the Noughties — in a forthcoming biopic. How depressing that, when it comes to the treatment of young women in the public eye, we clearly still have so far to go.”
It turns out the article really resonated with the former child star since she shared it on her Instagram Story, captioning it:
“Thank you.”
Aw!
Commentary like this has got to suck! But whether it’s her sophisticated fashion or just the new hair color, it’s undeniable that she’s got a new look! She’s far from the little Eleven we first met years ago!
