Will Moon Knight ever be a part of the Avengers? A new rumor suggests fans may have to wait even longer for Oscar Isaac to return to the MCU than first thought.
Moon Knight has been a very divisive series in the MCU. While many casual fans adored Oscar Isaac’s performance and have been waiting with baited breath to see him return, many die-hard lovers of the character think that version of the character is better left in the past. However, given how popular the series was during its time, many considered it to be a lock that he would make some sort of appearance in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars.
Those hopes were, seemingly, misplaced. A new rumor from Alex Perez at The Cosmic Circus suggests that, while Oscar Isaac’s time as Moon Knight isn’t done, he isn’t set to return as the character in either of the upcoming Avengers films. While it’s understandable that some characters would have to be cut given how jam-packed the MCU has gotten in recent years, cutting one of the internet’s biggest heartthrobs seems like a perplexing choice.
When Will Oscar Isaac Return As Moon Knight?
Even though Oscar Issac won’t be appearing in the upcoming Avengers films, it seems as though there are still plans in place for Moon Knight to come back soon. According to the rumor, the character is headed to New York for his next project. While it’s unclear why he’s traveling to the big apple, it’s clear that, once he’s there, he’ll be crossing over with some other heavy hitters in the MCU.
“[Moon Knight will return in] Midnight Sons,” Perez wrote. “Or possibly even Daredevil: Born Again. Reason why is because he’s headed to New York. What for? No idea.”
Given the next season of Daredevil: Born Again has already started filming, it’s likely that fans will know if Oscar Issac will appear as Moon Knight sometime soon. Though given he’ll likely headline the MCU’s version of the Midnight Sons, any confirmation of that movie by Marvel Studios will almost certainly come alongside a confirmation of his return as the character.
