Mr. Terrific & Jimmy Olsen Spin-Off Shows Being ‘Considered’ Following ‘Superman’ Success

]

Superman may be getting its own spin-off! The studio is reportedly considering a series based on either Mr. Terrific or Jimmy Olsen following the project’s success.

Superman has been a runaway success. Not only has the project managed to give DC a much-needed win at the box office, but it has brought the franchise’s characters to the front of public discourse. Perhaps the biggest example of this being Mr. Terrific, with fans endlessly praising Edi Gathegi’s performance online. However, even characters like Jimmy Olsen are getting some love, with the character being praised as the “Chairman of the Board” of sex alongside Jacob Batalon’s “CEO of Sex” meme following his time as Ned Leeds.

And when fans love a character, that’s just blood in the water for studios like Warner Bros. Discovery. A report from the Wall Street Journal reveals that DC Studios is considering the development of a spin-off featuring one of the key supporting characters in Superman. The two characters being considered to get their own series are the two above break-outs: Mr. Terrific and Jimmy Olsen.

What Would A Superman Spin-Off Look Like?

Out of the two, fans have a much clearer idea of what a Mr. Terrific spin-off would look like when compared to Jimmy Olsen. Ever since Superman was revealed, DC fans have been speculating that the film was meant to set up a project based on The Terrifics comic. Adapting the series would be a simple way to give fans more of Mr. Terrific, as well as Anthony Carrigan’s Metamorpho.

However, despite how it may seem, Jimmy Olsen may have more fertile ground for a spin-off series. While Mr. Terrific does have a team-up title to his name, Superman’s best pal has literal decades of serialized misadventures to pull from. The character’s solo series was the first to introduce Darkseid in the DC Universe! So while it’ll likely be some time before either is put into production, fans would likely love the result of either pick!
