Extra! Extra! Superman doesn’t just have friends in the skies! The latest character posters bring the focus to the Daily Planet with Jimmy Olsen and Lois Lane.
The Daily Planet has been one of the most shockingly consistent elements of Superman projects. Most would assume that Clark Kent’s day job would be left behind over the nearly century he’s been around, with standouts like Jimmy Olsen and Lois Lane being the only characters left standing. However, the hero has managed to hold on to his 9-5 throughout most of his publication run.
Which is why it’s no shock that the Daily Planet is getting some special treatment in the upcoming Superman film. Nearly the whole staff is highlighted in the recent batch of character posters. Not just Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen, but also Steve Lombard, Perry White, and Cat Grant. And while not as super as other posters, they do look genuinely stunning.
The Daily Planet’s Role In Superman
Despite not being in much of the trailers, it’s likely that the Daily Planet will play a sizable role in Superman. The office will likely serve as a backdrop for many interactions between Lois Lane and Clark Kent. It also wouldn’t be shocking to see Jimmy Olsen play a pivotal role in the film’s B-plot, potentially serving to expose Lex Luthor’s plans to the public.
While it’s likely this batch of character posters is the last, it doesn’t mean the Daily Planet crew is any less special. If anything, it highlights how important people like Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen are to Superman that the employees of a newspaper can stand alongside Green Lanterns and sadistic billionaires. Now fans just need to hope that Clark Kent gets into some wacky hijinks next time a trailer drops online!
Superman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
