Nick Jonas has the internet stirred up!
What was clearly meant to be a playful post has turned into an online crisis for some Jonas Brothers fans! On Tuesday night, the Sucker crooner reacted to an X (Twitter) post by Elon Musk — seemingly signaling his support for the controversial businessman who was actively involved in Donald Trump‘s presidential campaign. So naturally, everyone now thinks Nick is a Trump supporter, too!

How’d this all unfold?? The Tesla founder started off the interaction by commenting on a post that had predicted he was going to destroy his car brand by getting involved in politics, only for the stock to soar to new heights following the Republican candidate’s win. Celebrating the victory, the SpaceX founder posted a viral meme of the Jo Bros, in which they physically turned a table, captioning it:
“My, how the tables have turned!
“
Seeing as he was referenced, the Jealous performer took it upon himself to chime into the convo unexpectedly, posting a photo of Elon smiling and pointing, writing:
“Take us to the Year 3000.”

Wow!!!
Many fans were instantly OUTRAGED by the show of support, especially since Nick was so silent during the election. They commented:
“we’re not just gonna move on from this btw. to be noticeably quiet during the entire election cycle and then tweet something like this? i’ve been a fan since 2005 and was really looking forward to a 20 year anniversary tour but i just cannot give my support to this.”
“ARE YOU KIDDING I DIDN’T PRAY FOR NICK JONAS WHEN HE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH DIABETES FOR THIS”
“and to think I cried when he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes…”
“I DID NOT HAVE A CRUSH ON NICK JONAS FOR THIS TO HAPPEN OH MY GOD.”

Hah! If you don’t know, Year 3000 was originally performed by the band Busted. Some other users were shocked to learn Nick could be a Republican, despite his previous political activity. See (below):

But not everyone is surprised by this development, one user chimed in:
“People acting shocked about this development as if the Jonas Brothers aren’t just three non-college-educated white evangelical men from New Jersey, like, statistically the most likely demographic to buy into Trump-Musk’s whole deal”
A select few fans also defended the actor, arguing:
“I’ll be completely honest… yall are weird for thinking that Nick replying w/ a joke, after Elon tweeted a Jonas meme, has anything to do with politics. Like him or not, Elon is huge. He posted a silly meme & nick acknowledged it with a joke. Everything is not that serious.”
Hmmm. A joke or not, it was definitely supportive of Elon and Tesla. Now, if that means Nick’s on board with Trump and all his political views, that’s harder to tell. But if he was anti-Elon, he simply would’ve ignored the post. It’s not like it was really about him, anyway!
