Where do Rachael Kirkconnell and Matt James stand following their nasty breakup? The answer may shock some fans!
As Perezcious readers will recall, the former Bachelor lead shocked everyone last month when he announced the end of their relationship on Instagram — a post he gave Rachael zero heads up about. He completely blindsided her! If that was not bad enough, just wait. Not only did Matt break up with her right before she had to fly from Tokyo, where they were vacationing together, to Atlanta, but he dropped the post only a few hours after it happened… while she was about to take off! Rachael didn’t even get a chance to process the split (which happened after a fight about where to go to dinner) or even tell her loved ones! Although Matt admitted he f**ked up and has since deleted the post, the damage was already done.

The food influencer did Rachael SO dirty that no one would have blamed her if she never wanted to hear or see anything about him ever again! However, it looks like the former reality star is not staying away from his content! In fact, Rachael even LIKED a recent Instagram post about Matt’s trip to Kenya, where he spent “24 hours in Nairobi.” What!
Obviously, the move caught the attention of fans who now question: What does this mean? Is this a sign they are getting back together? Rachael previously seemed adamant she would never go back to Matt. Could she have changed her mind? Don’t get your hopes up for those who want the two to find their way back to each other! Content creator Zachary Reality posted a video to TikTok on Monday about the like and thinks this only indicated that Rachael is on good terms with Matt post-breakup:
“To me, this says, ‘We are on friendlier terms. We’ve probably talked a little bit behind the scenes. Now I’m liking your post to let the fans know that things have smoothed over a little bit.’”
Well, Rachael chimed in on all the speculation! Despite how the breakup was handled, the social media personality commented that everything is “good” between them:
“Never hated him and never will, i will always be rooting for him and wish him the best. At the end of the day a like is just a like. we’re all good over here.”
Does Matt feel the same way? He hasn’t addressed the situation since he dropped the breakup post but we can imagine he wasn’t too happy with Rachael for later airing out his dirty laundry on the Call Her Daddy podcast!
For her part, she continued to insist she was good with him while responding to other comments from fans. When one person said she wants “her to want better for herself,” Rachael replied:
“I do alexis!! we’re good over here.”
Hmm. Rachael then denied that she liked Matt’s post to get back in his “good graces” after talking about the split in the podcast interview and that she unfollowed him on social media. Ultimately, it sounds like Rachael wants everyone not to send unnecessary “hate” to her ex anymore. One user said:
“Maybe it’s her way of telling fans to lay off the hate on him. Even on CHD she didn’t want him to be pinned the villain.”
To which Rachael replied:
“Yes Dana.”
Is anyone else shocked she’s “good” with Matt? It seems hard to believe after how the breakup went down, but we guess she has a lot more grace than most.
