Is Lois Lane a dog person? Rachel Brosnahan reveals a some new information about her dynamic with Superman’s best boy Krypto the Superdog.
The cast of Superman is rather expansive, touching on all corners of the character’s mythos. However, of that supporting cast, two stand out as being the most important to the hero’s journey in the upcoming film. The first is Lois Lane, played by Rachel Brosnahan, who is stated to be as important to the film as Clark Kent himself. The second is Krypto the Superdog, the kryptonian canine that has served as a key pillar in the film’s marketing thus far.
This has led many to wonder if the two characters will meet in Superman and, if so, what their dynamic would be like. After all, Krypto has a much more energetic personality in the film than in the comics, and Rachel Brosnahan seems to be embracing the straight-shooting Lois Lane that fans have grown to love. The stage is set for a truly wonderful odd couple dynamic between the two.
Rachel Brosnahan Speaks Out On Krypto
Funnily enough, this question was actually addressed in a recent interview that Rachel Brosnahan did with CBR. During the conversation, the actress was asked if Lois Lane was a dog person. The answer, unsurprisingly, seemed to be that the reporter wasn’t exactly a fan of those of the pooch persuasion. She even joked that Krypto isn’t exactly the favorite character that Lois meets in Superman.
“No, no. She’s definitely not a dog person. I don’t think she’s an animal person. She has sh*t to do. No, she does not…Krypto is not her favorite character, I should say, in the new Superman film.”
It’s certainly going to be a fun dynamic to see how these two massive personalities clash on the silver screen. However, given how important the two characters are in Superman, with Krypto seemingly being the key to saving his owner multiple times in the film, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Lois Lane have a change of heart toward the end of the movie. At the very least, Rachel Brosnahan certainly wouldn’t complain getting to play with a puppy on set!
