Any hope Blake Lively had about mending the fences with Taylor Swift just went out the window! It sounds like a reconciliation will never, ever, ever happen!
Earlier this week, we heard Blake was “hopeful” to “rekindle” her friendship with the pop star after a judge dismissed Justin Baldoni‘s $400 million defamation lawsuit against the Gossip Girl alum. The problem is, though? It appears Taylor wants nothing to do with Blake! The Cruel Summer artist reportedly hasn’t even been in touch with her former best friend after she dragged her into the legal drama! Yikes!
Despite this, the 37-year-old actress was optimistic they could work things out. Well, bad news for Blake! Their friendship is so over! At least, that is the vibe we get from a new source! Referencing lyrics to Taylor’s track End Game, an insider for Page Six explained that she is pissed at Blake — and always will be — because she feels her so-called pal used her:
“Taylor buries hatchets but keeps maps of where she put them, remember? She will forever be furious at how Blake quite clearly was using her for clout and leverage in her dealings with Justin. She really hates that Blake would even think like that, let alone write the things she did in that text.”

Of course, the text in question is the one where Blake called Taylor one of her “dragons” while comparing herself to Khaleesi from Game of Thrones. All said in the pursuit of the Another Simple Flavor star trying to pressure him into changing a scene in It Ends With Us. Remember that odd one? However, the situation gets more twisted. When Justin subpoenaed Taylor last month, his attorney, Bryan Freedman, claimed they needed to talk to the vocalist because they received juicy information from a source closely linked to her (reportedly Papa Scott Swift) that Blake tried to extort her. The Betty Buzz founder allegedly threatened to leak private text messages if Tay didn’t issue a public statement of support amid the lawsuit. So messed up!
Even though Justin dropped the subpoena, the damage was done by that point! The Page Six source continued:
“The damage Justin did by revealing those texts— the ‘dragons’ text most especially, and by his initial subpoena, even though he dropped it— is lasting and probably permanent. The truth is, the text wasn’t even accurate. That’s not the kind of friendship they ever had— Taylor would never think of herself as Blake’s ‘dragon,’ or protector, or someone who would interfere on her behalf.”
And ultimately, the whole thing was “really hurtful” to Taylor. The insider spilled:
“For starters, Blake is a grown woman who doesn’t need anyone to do that for her. Secondly, she’s married to one of the most powerful men in Hollywood. It was never a matter of Taylor believing she’d ever have to fight any battles for Blake. For her to see Blake use her name in that context was really hurtful.”
What doesn’t help matters either is that Taylor’s involvement in the lawsuit may not be over! If the Grammy winner is mad about texts, think about how she must be feeling knowing she is not out of the woods yet, all because of Blake! And the mom of four seemingly knows she needs to do whatever it takes to fix things now! She is trying to protect Tay moving forward by blocking Justin from getting their communications. She claims he is attempting to use the singer’s fame to threaten her! This is rich coming from the woman who tried to extort her friend into issuing a public statement! Just saying!
Speaking of which, the Page Six insider also brought up the statement of support. They pointed out it would’ve been odd for Tay to even issue one because they never had that kind of friendship:
“Taylor didn’t even promote ‘It Ends With Us’ when the movie first came out, before any of this drama was revealed.”
The two were never about their professional engagements. As the insider stated:
“They were baking pals, travel pals, home decor pals… and to be totally honest, billionaire pals. They got along because they each lived their lives with the sort of trappings and access and privilege that tons of money brings. It was nice to be with someone else who ‘gets it’ and who absolutely didn’t seem to need a thing from Taylor, since she had her own millions.”
Yet Blake ruined the easy friendship they had. Now, there is no recovering from the whole mess:
“[Swift] was deeply wounded and, even if that heals, the scar will remain.”
Oof.
As Bad Blood goes, “You forgive, you forget, but you never let it go.” And it sounds like Taylor won’t let go and move on from Blake’s betrayal!
