After a brief pause out of respect for recent national events, the team behind Kamal Haasan’s much-anticipated film Thug Life has officially resumed its promotional activities. The film’s trailer launch, audio release, and worldwide release dates have now been rescheduled, as per an official statement issued on May 14, 2025.

The makers had earlier postponed the film’s audio launch in light of the tragic Pahalgam terror attack and the subsequent Operation Sindoor. Standing in solidarity with the nation, Kamal Haasan and his team had chosen to temporarily halt celebratory events surrounding the film.
Now, with renewed focus and creative energy, the Thug Life journey is back on track. The updated promotional roadmap includes:
- Thug Life Trailer Launch at 5 PM on May 17, 2025
- Thug Life Audio Launch featuring a live performance by AR Rahman and team at Sairam College, Chennai on May 24, 2025
- Worldwide Release of Thug Life on June 5, 2025
In the statement, the team expressed gratitude for the audience’s patience and unwavering support, calling the film a “labour of love and rebellion.” The note also reaffirmed their commitment to the creative journey, stating, “The road ahead is charged with conviction in our hearts and creativity as our compass.”
Featuring Kamal Haasan in a gritty new avatar and directed by Mani Ratnam, Thug Life has already generated significant buzz. The collaboration marks a reunion between the legendary actor and the acclaimed filmmaker after several decades, further heightening anticipation.
