Todd Chrisley is reflecting on his first night in prison.

On Saturday, the Chrisley Knows Best alum and his wife Julie Chrisley sat down for their first joint interview since receiving Donald Trump’s presidential pardon and being released from prison. During their chat with Fox News, Todd opened up about what was going through his mind during night one behind bars:

“I remember going in and that night I was so angry with God. And when I went to bed that night and the lights went out, I cried myself to sleep because it’s the first time Julie and I had ever been away from each other since we had been married.”

Todd and Julie got hitched all the way back in 1996… So by the time they were thrown in the pen in 2023, they had been together everyday for 27 years. Wow… He continued:

“I’d never not been in that house when my kids woke up in the morning or when they went to bed at night. And I just said, ‘God, why? I’ve tried to be a loyal and faithful servant, why are you allowing this to happen? You know these things are not true.’ And in my dream, God came to me and he said, ‘I had planted you where I need you and when you leave they will rise.’”

The 56-year-old went on:

“I look back on that dream now and I now understand when he said ‘they will rise,’ because they’re rising through President Trump.”
