Tom Brady is ready to put his cleats back on again!
As Perezcious readers know, the former football player famously returned to the NFL and joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers months after announcing his retirement in February 2022. Tom played one more season before officially retiring “for good” in February 2023. Well, not so fast! While he swore he was “not coming out of retirement” again, he apparently had a change of heart!
If you haven’t heard, the NFL owners decided to allow the league’s players to play flag football at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles this week. Following the decision, a source revealed to Dailymail.com on Friday that Tom now wants to be the quarterback to lead Team USA to victory! Yep, he is eyeing a comeback and a gold medal! The insider said:
“He wants a Gold medal. And what better way to remain the GOAT [greatest of all time] and return to the sport he loves, by helping his country win gold. He knows he would be able to help and excel in that environment and since his life is very much scheduled and has a tight regimen, so many things could fall into place for him around that time. With the Olympics being in LA, he wouldn’t have to travel far. And it would culminate in one of the best birthdays ever.”

It certainly would! Tom would turn 51 on August 3, 2028 — a few days after the closing ceremony. He’s also eligible for the Hall of Fame that year, and the induction ceremony happens the first week of August. So, the athlete would have quite a memorable birthday that year if everything works out! But at what cost? He previously claimed his kids would “kill” him if he unretired again. Would they be happy if he got back in the game for the Olympics?
