Shraddha Kapoor recently opened up about the film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar as it celebrated two years. The film featured her in a refreshing new light as she played as the leading lady Tinni aka Nishi Malhotra and received appreciation for her effortless charm and relatability. Playing a character that was bold, witty, and emotionally complex, Kapoor insisted that this was the one-of-a-kind character she enjoyed playing. Looking back on the film’s success, Shraddha fondly recalls how the story and her role instantly excited her.

Talking about the film, Shraddha Kapoor said “This character is quite different from what I played in Aashiqui 2 and my films afterward. She’s more in control, confident, and always on the front foot. For me, it was refreshing to portray someone who openly expresses what she feels. She has the charm of a girl-next-door but with a bit of tadka (spice), making it an exciting first for me.” She added “When he (director Luv Ranjan) narrated the film to me, I found the story truly entertaining. What excited me most was my character, as she is completely different from who I am. It was a challenge for me as an actor, and that made the experience even more rewarding.”
Two years later, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar continues to be cherished by fans, with its catchy songs, sharp dialogues, with Shraddha too receiving immense praises for her energy, emotion, and humour in the film. The actress insisted that she is grateful for the love and support she received for the film and throughout her journey, from her admirers and fans.
Meanwhile, talking about the film, directed by Luv Ranjan and produced by Luv Films and T-Series Films, it explored her chemistry for the first time with Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor. Also featuring Dimple Kapadia in a supporting role, the movie marked the acting debuts of producer Boney Kapoor and comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi.
