‘Vision’ Series Cast Adds Emily Hampshire As E.D.I.T.H.

The cast of Vision just keeps getting bigger and bigger! Emily Hampshire has officially joined the Disney Plus series as the AI known as E.D.I.T.H.

The Vision series has been on an interesting streak when it comes to announcing their cast. All of the recent additions have been bringing new faces to old entities in the MCU. Most of this coming in the form of AI that has been seen across the franchise, with characters like Jocasta and F.R.I.D.A.Y. getting sapient forms for the first time in their entire history.

This AI trend doesn’t seem to be slowing down, either. Emily Hampshire has officially joined the cast of the Vision Disney Plus series as the E.D.I.T.H. AI. For those that don’t recall, E.D.I.T.H. was the AI used by Spider-Man in Far From Home, gifted to him by Tony Stark after his death. Hampshire will be taking over the role from Dawn Michelle King, who served as the primary voice actress for the AI.

How The Vision Disney Plus Series Tackles AI

With Emily Hampshire now officially joining Vision as E.D.I.T.H., there’s a much clearer picture on what the Disney Plus series is trying to accomplish. The project seems to be bringing back every AI created by Tony Stark, alongside some other key figures from his past. This likely means the show will be a loose adaptation of the 2015 Vision comic, which focuses on the relationship the synthezoid has with the family he literally created.

As such, one shouldn’t be shocked to see an announcement adding James Spader (or a soundalike) to the cast as Ultron. After all, a series focused on Vision’s family wouldn’t be complete without the character’s literal father. Though what role Ultron, or any of the other AI like E.D.I.T.H., will play in the project is all up to speculation for now.
