‘West Coast Avengers’ Rumor Teases Marvel’s Big Plans For The Team In The MCU

]

Are the West Coast Avengers finally coming to the MCU? A new rumor suggests that Marvel Studios is finally looking to adapt the beloved super team.

There’s been a lot of talk about the West Coast Avengers in recent years. This is largely because many of their most prominent members, such as Vision, Wonder Man, and the Hawkeyes, have all ended up getting their own projects in the MCU. However, given Marvel Studios has announced it would be slowing down their content output in the coming years, many fans thought the prospect was wishful thinking at best.

Yet hope for the West Coast Avengers joining the MCU may finally be on an upswing. A new rumor from scooper MyTimeToShineHello states that Marvel Studios does have a plan for the beloved superhero team, though declined to reveal what exactly those plans were. The image posted for the team also had some interesting members, such as John Walker and War Machine, but of which have projects coming down the pipeline.

Who Are The West Coast Avengers?

Similar to the Justice League of America, the West Coast Avengers are an offshoot of Marvel’s most iconic super team established to handle smaller threats in a more timely manner. Specifically, the West Coast Avengers are based in California to protect the west coast of America. This is an area often ignored by the MCU, despite Marvel Studios repeatedly igniting the rumor mill with Tony Stark’s Malibu beach house in Iron Man 3 and the base established by T’Challa in Black Panther.

The team was forced forged into existence by Vision, who suggested its creation to the government before appointing Hawkeye as its leader. There’s long been a rumor that the Vision series would be a backdoor origin for the West Coast Avengers in the MCU. Though given the team has went through dozens of incarnations, from mainly being B-List heavy hitters to a group of comedic odd-balls, it’s unclear which direction Marvel Studios would take if the project does come to light.
