Is the DC Universe changing Krypto the Superdog? The latest rumor from Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow teases something big is in store for the canine companion.
It’s weird to think that Krypto the Superdog is going to be one of the biggest connective tissues for the DC Universe. The alien pooch is the only character confirmed to appear in both Superman and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, with more appearances likely lined up in any sequel either gets. But of course, with being the face of a new franchise, some changes have to be made.
The latest rumor reveals that Krypto will be going through some big changes in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow; though not in the way many fans might think. Scooper MyTimeToShineHello reveals that Krypto will grow in size during the course of the upcoming film. The movie will also feature a flashback to the dog as a pup, likely giving audiences their first look at Krypton in the DC Universe.
Krypto’s Role In Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow
This is actually a pretty interesting rumor to those familiar with the original Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic. In the book, Krypto plays a small but mighty role as the inciting incident of the story. If this is to be believed, it seems as though the dog will play a much more active role in the adaptation for the DC Universe, potentially joining the frontlines during the film’s final battle.
Of course, with these changes, it’s possible that Krypto could truly meet his end in Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow. While it may seen heartless to kill a dog in the second movie of the franchise, the DC Universe needs some major swings to gain back its market share from Marvel. Though, for everyone’s sake, fans should hope he manages to hang on by the skin of his paws!
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is set to release on June 26, 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
