Yahya Abdul-Mateen II makes a splash as Wonder Man! The latest teaser for the series gives fans their best look yet at Simon Williams in the MCU.
Wonder Man is turning into the new mystery child of the MCU. Despite the series having wrapped production a while ago, there’s still yet to be an official trailer showcasing Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s performance as Simon Williams. This has left many worried that the project will be tossed to the wayside like Ironheart, destined to not release for years upon years.
However, it seems as though Disney hasn’t forgotten about Wonder Man quite yet. The studio put out a small teaser for the upcoming MCU series in their “Coming in 2025” sizzle reel. This gives fans their best look yet at Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, showcasing his struggles as an actor and the first look at the hero’s powers.
Will Wonder Man Be Worth The Wait?
Surprisingly, Wonder Man has a lot going for it. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will play the titular Simon Williams, marking his debut in the MCU following his run as Black Manta in the old DC Universe. The series is also helmed by Destin Daniel-Cretton, the directorial mind behind Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Which explains why Trevor Slattery was in that teaser!
There’s still no concrete release date for Wonder Man. However, given Disney’s current slate, it’s likely that the project will debut sometime in October or November. That is, unless the studio decides to drop every episode of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s series on the same day. Then it’s possible that fans won’t be able to see Simon Williams in action until late December!
