Ryan Reynolds has big plans for the X-Force! A new rumor reveals some shocking faces joining Deadpool in the lineup of the MCU’s upcoming mutant team-up!
One of the biggest pieces of news to come out of the MCU in recent months was that Ryan Reynolds was working on a new script featuring Deadpool. However, it wouldn’t simply be another team-up movie, but rather a TEAM film with Deadpool in a supporting role. According to the rumor mill, the project is set to focus on the X-Force; or at least be heavily inspired by it.
Details about this X-Force film are sparse, mostly since Ryan Reynolds is writing the project on spec (which means that it wasn’t specifically requested by Marvel Studios, and may ultimately be scrapped). However, given that the MCU is already deep into development on their own X-Men reboot, it’s likely that Deadpool won’t be joined by many first-string mutants for this project.
What Characters Are In The X-Force Film?
A rumor from MyTimeToShineHello sheds some light on who fans can expect if this X-Force film does come to light. Ryan Reynolds is, rather obviously, set to reprise his role as Deadpool. However, he’ll also reportedly be joined by Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Josh Brolin’s Cable, two gruff anti-heroes from his prior films. While Jackman’s involvement isn’t shocking, Brolin staying on as Cable despite already playing Thanos in the MCU is certainly interesting.
However, the most notable part of this rumor is that the X-Force film will also feature Storm, this time played by a new actress who will continue to carry the mantle in the MCU. This would be interesting, especially since many assumed she would be a leading member of the X-Men in the upcoming reboot. Though given her popularity, it’s possible that Ryan Reynolds is using the character to tie Deadpool’s story into the broader plan for the franchise.
Ryan Reynolds is reportedly writing an X-Force film. It is not confirmed to be in development for the MCU. Stay tuned for the latest updates surrounding the X-Force film and be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
