The Substance star Margaret Qualley is reportedly being eyed for a major X-Men role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The rumor mill has been absolutely flooded with reported castings for X-Men in the MCU. From DeWanda Wise as Storm to Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, almost every member of the Mutant team has been set to be actively sought out by the studio. While no individual rumor can be taken as truth without a massive grain of salt, the characters listed in them may be able to provide some insight into Marvel’s thought process when crafting the film.
The latest X-Men to get splashed by the rumor mill is Rogue, who recently exploded in popularity thanks to her incredibly emotional arc in X-Men ’97. According to Jeff Sneider on The Hot Mic, Marvel is eyeing Margaret Qualley to play the Southern belle in the MCU. Qualley recently rose to stardom with her role as “Sue” in The Substance, which won her a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Feature Film.
Who Will Play Rogue In The MCU?
Of course, while The Substance star is currently the talk of the town, Margaret Qualley isn’t the only actress that could play Rogue in the MCU. Keke Palmer has become the face of fancasting due to her passion surrounding the X-Men heroine, with a prior rumor suggesting that she may have spoken to Marvel about a future part in the franchise.
Fans also have their own thoughts on who should play Rogue in the MCU. Elizabeth Gilles, Grace Caroline Currey, and Kiersey Clemons have all been floated to join the X-Men as the beloved Mrs. X. However, none have had a rumor about them in the same way as Margaret Qualley and Keke Palmer, suggesting those two may be the most likely to take on the role.
