Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man has had an interesting history in the eyes of fans. Originally pitched as an animated origin story for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, the project soon evolved into an Elseworlds story on Disney Plus, detailing a new universe where Spider-Man got his powers from a multiverse hopping arachnid. This change, a long with a controversial animation style, left many worried that the series would ultimately disappoint longtime fans.
Luckily, things seem to be looking up for the wallcrawler. As of writing, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man sits at an astonishing 100% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. The series is doing slightly worse with fans, with audiences rating the Disney Plus show at 76%. Given how much controversy has surrounded Marvel’s Disney Plus slate in recent years, especially in the animated department, it’s surely a relief to everyone involved that Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man managed to struck a cord with audiences.
